Kelden's Starter Jedi Guide
« on: 07-10-16, 18:54:31 »
Feel free to chip in if you've got a lot of knowledge about a section, and can break it down.

I figure a lot of people will roll the Jedi class (Star Wars Lol). I played for approximately 1 year upon the NGEs’ release. I did do a lot of pvp though, but this isn’t going to be a pvp guide, nor is it going to be a min/max guide, but a back to basics guide solely for those who don’t understand just what to do like I did as a returning player. Even though I played on live, I literally have forgotten almost everything (although it’s coming back to me). In addition, I played live during the time Master Robes and Old Republic Lightsaber were BiS, Shatterpoint/Cloak of hate weren’t in the game when I was playing. So I feel I’m qualified to make this guide, because I understand first-hand how frustrating it is to be told what to do, and people simply say.. craft a 4th/5th generation lightsaber, and I kind of go well I can’t remember.. how Lol. Grab a lightsaber crafting tool, then use bespin port/cakes, well… how? And where do I even start crafting this thing?

I won’t come close to completing it in one go around, as I learn things from a returning noobs perspective, I will explain them as I learn them in the most basic ways possible, for anyone else that was in my position.

This will be an ever improving guide/Roadmap:

Main topics in green

CL1-90
For starters, the first order of business is pressing J, and following the ‘Legacy’ quest line.

Jedi Robes: http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_robe - Every 20ish levels you need to go and obtain your new tier of Jedi robes. Also don’t forget, you can wear 1 necklace, 1 belt, 2 ring, 2 bracelet, 1 head, 1 gloves, 1 backpack or bandolier with your robes. You can also hide your helmet/backpack. If you store loot in your backpack with it equipped, the items inside of it will not take up your 0/80 main inventory space.

CL22 Initiate’s robe http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Initiate%27s_Robe – Given automatically upon reaching this level

CL40 Acolye Robe http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Acolyte_Robe - Upon reaching CL40, you need to farm npcs that will drop this.

CL60 Apprentice Robe - http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Apprentice_Robe - Upon reaching CL 60, you need to farm npcs that will drop this. I got mine from the Nightsisters on Dathomir, the two lower level escaped slaves in front of the Nightsister cave.

CL80 Jedi Knight Robe - http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Knight_Robe – Upon reaching CL 80, you need to farm npcs that will drop your Jedi Knight robe. I got mine from the Ranger/Sentry Nightsisters on Dathomir.

OPTIONALCL80+ http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_cloak You need to be CL80 to equip any of these cloaks at least.
Jedi Master Cloak - http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Master_Cloak I recommend getting this cloak as it may take you awhile to get your BiS cloaks. You need to farm HK? Where? How?  Group size to clear?

Arbiter robes – Would need to be force added into game. Pre-NGE robes granted to Jedi who did work pre-NGE to unlock Jedi. Superior to Jedi Master Cloak, and arguably competitive/inferior to Shatterpoint/Cloak of hate. Arguably best looking robe in-game.

Cloak collection quest - http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Jedi_Cloaks What is it? It is the line you need to follow to obtain your new BiS Jedi robes, Shatterpoint/Cloak of hate will be rewarded upon completing the collection.

1/7 Jedi Artifact Collection – Meditative Discipline – The beginning of the ‘hologrind’ You need to farm 1 through 5 Jedi/Sith holocrons. For both collections, the 4/5’s are generally the hardest/most expensive to obtain. This is all RNG, although the Meditative discipline collection is easier/cheaper to obtain then the waist pack collection. When you complete this collection, you are automatically awarded the ability to /sit then /meditate to receive 1 of 3 buffs that last for 30 minutes, and you can always right click it on your character bar to dismiss it and try for a different buff.

2/7 Jedi Artifact Collection – Waist Pack – This is it, prepare your club soda and potato chips, this is what separates the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ some people have farmed months to obtain this collection. 1/2/3/5 are the easier ones to obtain, the Jedi 4/5, and Sith 4/5, are both insanely rare, I have been farming nightsisters for a week straight, and have not found a Sith 4/5. You may want to consider buying this if you have the money/opportunity. This will award you with your Bodo Baas belt. Which fulfills your set bonus with your robes, and has considerable stats on it’s own.
Nightsister cave co-ordinates – Dathomir, East of science outpost. These will drop your ‘sith holocrons’
Force-sensitive cave co-ordinates – Dantooine NW corner, or the npcs near the ruined Jedi temple also on Dantooine, NE corner co-ordinates.

Aurillia/Heroics – http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Aurilia You need to go to Aurillia to unlock ‘heroics’ by doing several quest chains(basically SWG’s raids).

Heroic Jewelry

Exar Kun Heroic – http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Exar_Kun How to unlock, Group size?
Lost Star Destroyer Heroic – http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Lost_Star_Destroyer  How to unlock, Group size?
Axkva Min Heroic – http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Axkva_Min How to unlock, Group size?
Tusken Army Heroic – http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Tusken_Army  How to unlock, Group size?

3/7 One handed Fifth Generation Lightsaber

4/7 Two handed Fifth Generation Lightsaber – Exar Kun instance – Lost Star Destroyer Instance

5/7 Polearm Fifth Generation Lightsaber – Axkva Min instance – Tusken Army instance

6/7 Defeat Bre-ano Umakk

7/7 Defear Quillara Adeen

Lightsabers http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber

Lightsaber crafting tool – How is it made?

Bespin port – How is it made?

Cake – Forgot name, how is it made?

Raw materials

Experimentation method

Crystals: When your lightsaber is finished, you need to right-click it and notice it will have open slots, for example, the 4th generation lightsaber is 0/5, you need to equip 1 color crystal, and 4 power crystals, you can change these at any time without losing the items.

Color crystals – Where and how?

Power crystals – Farmed Good/Quality from the Nightsister Ranger/Sentrys. Where are others?

Krayt dragon pearls – Where are the krayt dragons?

1st Generation Lightsaber – Complete Lightsaber received upon reaching CL30, If you lose this, you cannot craft your own until CL38

2nd Generation Lightsaber – Schematic acquired at CL54?

3rd Generation Lightsaber – Schematic acquired at CL70?

4th Generation Lightsaber – Schematic acquired at CL78?  Past this point you need duralloy steel with your lightsaber, in addition to other materials. I hear it possibly doesn’t spawn for a while on a fresh server?

5th Generation Lightsaber – CL90 See cloak collection quest, is 5th generation Best in Slot?

Other Lightsabers
Old republic Lightsaber – CL88A boss on Mustafar, Guide?

Jinsu Razor – CL75 Needed for collection

Juyo Saberstaff – CL86 What is this?

I'll add some pointers here, If you want more advice on Jedi just lemme know either from Forums or Discord.

As a fresh lvl 90 Jedi that has just dinged, You'll wanna start obtaining the core equipment you'll need to succeed in endgame content.

First things you'll wanna obtain is the Jedi Knight Robe and either a Caller of the Storms or a 3rd Generation Lightsaber depending on if you are a LSJ or a DSJ.

If DSJ you can use a 3rd generation lightsaber with less than a 5% DPS loss as 95% of your DPS is pure force attacks, You will be able to parry ranged attacks as well giving you extra defense which you'll lack compared to a LSJ at the start.

LSJ you'll want the extra damage as you have alot of Lightsaber based attacks and the higher defense will mitigate the loss of being able to parry ranged attacks.

Now before you begin on your adventures of obtaining the Shatterpoint/Cloak of hate i will highly suggest 1 thing:

IF you are going to farm Jedi/Sith Holocrons ATK do NOT farm solo, Find people to group with (They don't need to come with you) so you can force bigger spawns. Bigger spawns = better results. Using this method you can obtain the entire Sith and Jedi Waistpack and Meditative Collections within a day. Obviously it can be faster or slower depending on luck and if you have friends helping you but please don't farm solo. You'll suffer in the long run.

Obviously if you are going to use the method above i'd recommend going DSJ and trying to obtain Officer Stims, Medic Buffs and Entertainer Buffs to make it easier, Without them you'll have a hard time farming. Jedi are the easiest so start with them.

Lightsaber Crafting Tool is crafted by you using a General Crafting Tool and you'll need to buy Bespin Port and Pyrollian Cake from a Domestic's Trader (Chef)

Color Crystals: Get a random blue one to start with and find a group of people to take down N-K to obtain the Bane's Heart, This is the best starter crystal and is quite easy to obtain. After that you'll wanna work towards Bondara's Folly via the Unknown Crystal Shard Collection so keep every single crystal. Best in Slot Crystal is Windu's Guile obtained from General GCW Rank

Power Crystals: You have two methods, Farm Krayt Dragons at the Krayt Graveyard or farm treasure maps using /forage and get a 6M+ group before attempting to complete them. Treasure maps can drop both Premium Power Crystals, Lightsaber Crafting Bracelets, Entertainer Bracelets (Will sell really nice at the start) and Premium/Flawless Krayt Pearls. Best in Slot are Ancient Krayt Pearls (Flawless)

Lightsabers: If you are a DSJ you may as well try and get the Old Republic Lightsaber but honestly it's not that important. 5th generations are more than fine if you can obtain them. Jinsu Razors are obtained from Restuss after it has been destroyed and you can find the NPC in the center of the city every 6 hours after restart. You will need to radial the corpse to obtain your schematic. Juyo's are pretty useless imo and i would not recommend trying to obtain one but they are obtained from Heroics (Axvka Min + IG-88)

Thank you, anyone who helps with information I can mesh into my guide will be listed as someone who gave credit.

The guide is nowhere near done. Zero editing has been done to it with still a lot of missing information. I'm just throwing a very rough template together, the goal is to have something substantial/edited properly by the time live is out. That players who are new to SWG/Jedi, new to the NGE, or just can't remember what to do can have a general progression guideline.

How about some sample expertise builds for pve and pvp, Dark and Light side?  I have found just one DS jedi guide on the wiki, but even I can tell that it's a very poor guide (the person who wrote it hadn't even finished leveling up).

We need some good expertise builds. I can't find any out there now. I'm needing a good DSJ solo PVE build.

You need to farm HK: Yes
Where: Mustafar
How: Hero of mustafar quest line opens the dungeon , then you can fly in from the mining facility for future runs
Group size to clear: Good Question, I never ran it with fewer than 4 but it was more or less easy mode (admittedly usually 3 of us were geared out).  Also drops the YT-2400 for you space heads
